After launching several successful Kickstarters the common questions that kept coming up for our founder, Dedren Snead, were “How did you do it?”, “How did you find your team?”, and “How did you get the word out about your project?” This led him to realize how much creatives need help bridging the gap between their ideas and sustaining creative projects.
This is where Subsume Life comes in. The idea of SUBSUME, by definition, is to be included in something else -- to find where you are intersecting with where you want to be, effortless yet empowered. SUBSUME Life is a trans-media platform that focuses on community collaborative storytelling that brings cultural creativity to the intersection of art, the humanities and interactive technology.
From comic books to virtual reality workshops, we help marginalized voices be heard and break out of their feast or famine mentality. We bring together people who are driven by passion and purpose to inspire one another and inspire change in neighborhoods and cities around the world. Together we are creating a community that gives a damn.
With our podcast and Instagram community, we introduce you to individuals from different races, classes, and genders from around the world, each with unique accents, cultures, and struggles. We discuss such topics as building a following, finding your unique style, launching products, getting clients, working with investors, building passion projects, and getting paid what you're worth. We also run live events in Atlanta, GA that features well-known film and entertainment personalities and innovators in the Atlanta creative industry. There is also the chance to preview many up and coming works being developed in Atlanta.
We use the popular crowdfunding models to help creatives kick start their careers and give them real-world opportunities to apply their creative skills. We do this by evaluating your skill set, passions, and career goals then, we match you up with a creative project and team. We guide you step-by-step through the process of working on a large-scale project and bring in professionals to give constructive critiques. Our Projects are primarily focused on sci-fi and fantasy comics, animation, and video games featuring African history, culture and mythology but we are branching out into other cultural stories in the near future.
We can’t wait to have you as a part of our community to support you, celebrate with you, and encourage you to make the things you love.
